CFAS was created by a collective of artists who take great pride in craftsmanship, quality, and professionalism. Our team offers decades of combined project management and onsite experience working on large-scale projects with multiple logistical complications. We excel at finding solutions that are mutually beneficial to the artwork, the clients, and the vendors.
First and foremost, however, we are craftsman – each specializing in areas of woodworking, welding, blacksmithing, and more.
RYAN CAMPAGNA
Early on in life, Ryan developed an appreciation for quality craftsmanship. A natural problem solver, he has always been intrigued by finding connections and messages hidden within a canvas or installation.
The world of art handling combines it all, allowing Ryan to artistically express himself through creative rigging and fabrication solutions while always appreciating the artist’s work and intentions. Ryan feels fortunate every time he get to witness a project from initial inquiry to final execution.
Prior to art handling, Ryan spent years as a project manager for an environmental remediation contractor, giving him invaluable working experience with everything from plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical, to reading blueprints and operating heavy machinery. (Fun fact – he also spent time as a professional chef)
Ryan’s main goal in working with any client is to find mutually beneficial solutions, and provide the utmost care to the client’s property and artwork. His appreciation for craftsmanship shines through in everything he does, as does his desire to think creatively and thoughtfully.
PETER KENAR
Peter Kenar received his BFA in sculpture from Northern Illinois University and his MFA from Indiana University. After his formal education he attended Vermont Studio Center as well as Ragdale residencies.
Professionally, Peter has spent years fabricating and handling various mediums of 2D and 3D artworks and artifacts. He has exhibited his artwork nationally in New York, Chicago, Seattle, Grand Rapids, Minneapolis as well as internationally in Tokyo, Okinawa, and Venice.
Peter holds the role of Project Manager and Fabrication Lead for CFAS. His sense of responsibility to clients’ needs and visions is always a priority. Through experience and out-of-the-box thinking, he brings an artistic approach to many of the demanding projects the company encounters. Above everything else, Peter is a craftsman. His desire to exceed clients expectations and offer thoughtful solutions is always his priority.
ANTHONY DEIBNER-HANSON
Anthony Deibner-Hanson is a practicing sculptor living in Chicago where he is a lead art rigger at CFAS. He grew up in Mt Vernon, Iowa and attended Knox College where he double-majored in Spanish and Art.
After graduating, Anthony was awarded the opportunity to stay for a fifth year as the Post-baccalaureate Fellow in the Knox College Art Program where he managed the college galleries, participated in critiques and helped fellow art majors install and deinstall their thesis shows.
He went on to earn his MA and MFA from the University of Wisconsin Sculpture Program and later worked as an adjunct professor at Cornell College teaching Intro to Sculpture classes.
Besides immersing himself in art, Anthony has spent a lot of time traveling, lucky enough to spend time studying in Venezuela and Argentina. The value he places in craftsmanship shines through in every project he works on.
